Original theatrical release - Running time listed in pressbook as 90 minutes, but that is of course approximate. There is no definitive proof as of this writing, but some sources claim the theatrical release featured a brief "overture", consisting of the beginning portion of the main title cue that remains unheard in all English versions, playing over a black screen.

16mm TV releases - No copy of an airing has surfaced, but it's likely they were identical in all respects sans cropping, to their theatrical counterparts.

UPA master, 87 min, 21 secs - Here's where things get a little confusing to the uninformed. It's seems whatever 35mm elements UPA utilized for their infamous 1983 video master were damaged or incomplete, with many lines left out through splicing and or simple incompetence on UPA's part. The "Commence Plan C" line at the end of Godzilla's struggle with the towers is present, but the shots are from a visibly inferior source, possibly a scope 16mm print. The original "An American International Picture" end title is replaced by a black screen.

Simitar Letterboxed Master, 87 min, 21 secs - Appears to use the same photochemical sources as the UPA master for the video, only aged by almost two more decades, resulting in some very interesting color malfunctions in some parts. Follows the chronology of the UPA master precisely omitting all the same frames, shots and lines. Issued on tape and DVD. And of course, the original AIP opening and end titles are present.

Monsters HD master, 88 min, 5 secs,  - This cropped 16:9 master has the benefit of being much closer to the theatrical experience, but still not entirely so. While it has the Vs. The Thing exclusive credits, there is an added fade at the beginning of the AIP logo, which was not present on Simitar's widescreen master, which  significantly eariler. Several lines have been restored (e.g. "Emergency! Emergency!" and "A, B, C. Within the lines of this triangle..."), though some reel changes are still a bit messy. The Plan C line is missing entirely, so it's theorized it's not in any currently or previously used 35mm source.

The Frontier Missile scene - The exclusive Frontier missile battle, arguable the highlight of AIP's

release, is missing over 2 seconds of footage of the second wave of

missile impacts in UPA's master, abruptly beginning with the third explosion.

The German DVD by Marketing Film (assembled from multiple sources), has the first two missing explosions, but is missing the five frames of the missile optical effect that occur before the third explosion, as they switch back to the Simitar version for the following shot. The author is not sure if they are present on the earlier Best/ASTRO DVD from 2002 or not, which the first two explosions are sourced from.

Those five frames ARE present in the Monsters HD telecine however. What is not present though is the first explosion, as the MHD starts a little late with the second missile optical already in progress.
